Potential, Made Visible

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. The Wave Function Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Federal tax-exempt status is pending, and all donations are fully tax-deductible as of February 2026. You will receive written confirmation for your records.

  • Every dollar goes directly toward our summer program — staffing, facility, transportation, adaptive supplies, and the daily experiences that make this program meaningful. We run lean by design so that donor dollars reach participants directly. A detailed budget breakdown is available upon request.

  • Our budget reflects our realistic goal and projection for year one. Whatever we raise, we will use every dollar to serve as many students as possible at the same level of quality. We will never compromise on the experience, safety, or dignity of our participants — we will simply serve more children as more support comes in. The more we raise, the more kids we reach!

  • Something permanent.

Our long-term vision is to build a year-round organization that creates a genuine pipeline of programming and opportunity for people with significant disabilities on the Outer Banks — from summer camp through meaningful employment long-term. We envision on-site operations that can support new cooperative business ventures staffed and run by the very participants our programs serve.

Our primary focus though — now and always — is providing meaningful summer opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities. Everything else grows from that.

  • Absolutely. We welcome donations of adaptive equipment, art supplies, sports materials, snacks, and other program essentials. If you have something you think we could use, reach out and we'll let you know. Every contribution makes a difference.

  • We welcome corporate and business partnerships at every level. Sponsorship opportunities start at $3,500 and include recognition as a supporter of The Wave Function Project. Please reach out directly to wavefunctionproject@gmail.com
